Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traore arrived in Moscow to participate in events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
During his meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, Putin proposed a dialogue on additional measures Russia could take to help reduce tensions in the Middle East.
This development occurs as leaders from four prominent European nations have warned of increasing pressure on Putin if he does not agree to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, a proposal they presented earlier on Saturday in a demonstration of solidarity with Kyiv.
The leaders of France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Poland stated that their ceasefire proposal, set to commence on Monday, received backing from U.S. President Donald Trump, who they had briefed via phone earlier that day.
