Pastor Adeboye Condemns the arrest of his Pastor abroad for addressing congregation as ladies and gentlemen

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, expressed concern over the arrest of one of the church’s pastors overseas. He explained that the pastor was detained for referring to attendees at an event as “ladies and gentlemen.”

Pastor Adeboye noted that this phrase was deemed discriminatory as it failed to encompass all gender identities recognized in that culture.

“He shared this information during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG’s Throne of Grace in Lagos State Nigeria on Sunday. His sermon, which was transmitted to all church parishes, was titled “My Father’s House.”

“The end is closer than you realize. Conditions are deteriorating, and this serves as a wake-up call. One of my pastors abroad was arrested merely for addressing a gathering as ‘ladies and gentlemen.'”

Some individuals have reported him for discrimination, questioning, “What about those who do not identify as either ladies or gentlemen?” he remarked. He recounted an incident where, when inquiring about her partner, a woman responded, “I took him to the vet before coming. He doesn’t talk,” referring to her “husband” as a dog.

Adeboye expressed his worries regarding the decline of moral values globally, interpreting these occurrences as indicators of the end times.

“For those of you who are already in Christ, take this issue seriously. Do not allow anyone to undermine your convictions. God is holy. Those who are merely going through the motions—singing, clapping, and enjoying the experience without true dedication—should remember that Jesus is returning. The devil seeks to claim you, but you must not provide him with that chance. I hope to see you in my father’s house,” he emphasized.

Adeboye, recognized for addressing national matters and the church’s engagement with foreign cultures within its branches worldwide, recently criticized men with braided hair and women wearing false eyelashes and excessive makeup.

Voicing his dissatisfaction with these trends among church workers, Adeboye made it clear that such appearances will no longer be accepted on RCCG altars. During his address at the church’s 72nd annual convention in August, he expressed his astonishment at the increasing prevalence of these fashion choices among church members.

Pastor Enock Adeboye has been a vocal voice on issues that concern morality, cultures and Christianity.
