Nigerias President Buhari Meets APC Governors Closed Doors Aso Rock
President Muhammadu Buhari has met with governors on the platform of the All progressives Congress (APC) – The meeting had governors of 10 states and the deputies governors of Kaduna and Katsina – Discussions between the president and the governors may partly centre on the issue of insecurity President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, June 18, met with state governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) behind closed doors inside the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
The Nation reports that the meeting between the president and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum held inside the council chamber of the Presidential Villa around 11.37 am. It was learnt that the governor Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, offered the opening christian prayer, while his Borno counterpart, Babagana Zulum, said the Muslim prayer.
The forum is headed by the Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagudu
It had in attendance governors from Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Ekiti, Kayode Fayemi; Edo, Godwin Obaseki; Plateau, Niger, Kogi, Yahaya Bello; Borno, Babagana Zulum; Nasarawa, Abdullahi Sule; Yobe, Mai Mala Buni; Osun, Gboyega Oyetola; and Ogun, Dapo Abiodun. The deputy governors of Katsina and Kaduna were reportedly at the meeting.
It was learnt that the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, were also at the meeting. Though details of the meeting are yet to be known, it is learnt that discussions would centre on the escalating level of insecurity in parts of the country
