British boxing star and former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is recovering in hospital after being involved in a deadly road accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two members of his inner circle.
The crash occurred on Monday morning on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, one of Nigeria’s busiest highways linking Lagos with Ogun State. According to preliminary reports from the Federal Road Safety Corps, Joshua was travelling in a Lexus SUV when it struck a stationary truck while attempting to overtake.

The statement also named the two victims as Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, both described as close friends and part of Joshua’s team.
Officials in Lagos and Ogun states said Joshua and another injured individual are in stable condition and are not in need of urgent medical treatment. The Ogun State Police Command added that investigations into the cause of the accident are continuing.
