In April 2025, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of Sudan took control of the Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur after a violent three-day attack.

The conflict, which has been ongoing since April 2023, has wreaked havoc in Sudan, displacing over 12 million individuals and leaving nearly half of the population facing severe hunger.
