The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, is actively seeking advanced technological solutions to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability at airports throughout Nigeria.
This information was shared by Mr. Tunde Moshood, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister, who noted that Keyamo recently visited HOG Technologies, a leading global provider of runway de-rubberization equipment, at their headquarters in Stuart, Florida.
Accompanying the minister were Mr. Adedayo Bankole, the MD/CEO of Barnksforte Group Ltd, and Mr. Bishop Adejube, CEO of International Trade Exchange LLC, who represent HOG Technologies in Nigeria and Africa.
The statement indicated that the Minister received a warm welcome from Mr. James Crocker, Founder and CEO of HOG Technologies, along with Mr. Matt Butcher, Vice President of Global Sales.
During the visit, the Minister witnessed a live demonstration of HOG Technologies’ cutting-edge runway de-rubberization equipment, providing him with valuable insights into innovative technologies that could help resolve Nigeria’s aviation issues.
Mr. Crocker highlighted the appropriateness of HOG Technologies’ solutions for Nigeria’s busy and regional airports, emphasizing the equipment’s efficiency and sustainability. He also announced plans to set up a regional training and support center in Nigeria to promote capacity building and technology transfer.
This visit represents a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance Nigeria’s aviation standards. The knowledge and opportunities gained from this engagement will serve as a foundation for transformative improvements in safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
One of the potential strategic priorities outlined by the Minister includes the procurement of de-rubberization equipment from HOG Technologies for major airports in Nigeria. Additionally, there are plans to initiate a pilot project at a busy airport and work together to train local technical teams.
This partnership with HOG Technologies is in line with the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s goal to enhance infrastructure, implement global best practices, and maintain Nigeria’s aviation sector as a vital contributor to economic growth and sustainability.
