Ivorian footballer Seko Fofana is making his return to Ligue 1 after finalizing a deal to join the French club Rennes.
The 28-year-old midfielder has recently been on loan at Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League, having been contracted to Al Nassr.
His transfer back to France is believed to be valued at over €20 million.
As Rennes aims for a strong performance in the latter half of the season, Fofana’s addition is seen as a significant enhancement for the squad.
Supporters are optimistic that he will enable the team to compete effectively both domestically and internationally.
Fofana’s impressive displays at RC Lens from 2020 to 2023 attracted considerable attention from top European clubs.
In addition to securing Fofana, Rennes is reportedly also interested in strengthening their roster by pursuing goalkeeper Brice Samba, who, like Fofana, has previously played for Lens.
